ALIEN BUG HEAD: Cereal premium, MIP - still sealed in original wrapper, issued circa-1980s (based on wrapper material), yellow plastic, "MADE IN U.S.A. PAT. PEND. C.C.I." hallmark stamped on base piece, connected premium is 4 inches long x 1.5 inches wide, packaging is 5.25 x 3.25 inches. It looks like some kind of alien/bug head that would separate into three parts. Two pieces assemble by a hinge piece that lets the head open like a clam shell. The base piece snaps into the middle piece. I haven't been able to identify the cereal associated with this premium or the exact year of issue, but it's from one of the big four - Kellogg's, Post, General Mills or Quaker. This one really has me stumped and I would love to know what box I pulled it out of and when. It may not even be an alien or a bug! Can anyone positively ID this? See both sides of premium  $12

FREAKIES CEREAL "SOFT" BOSS MOSS: Ralston Purina Cereal premium, issued 1973-74, Still sealed in the original packaging - condition note: while this premium was never opened and some would call it MIP, I can't. It appears as though the soft rubber has chemically reacted with the plastic wrapper and Boss Moss has some dark spots on him as a result. I would venture to say that this is common for any premium of this type that is still sealed. This approximately 1.75 inches tall, green Boss Moss is from the rarer soft rubber series, not the hard plastic set more commonly found. Glare in image off original packaging but this shot gives you an excellent view of the dark spots on Boss Moss. See premium  $35

KELLOGG'S CEREAL PREMIUMS - Non-Character Specific (Listed by date issued)

Kellogg's 3-D Cards are listed on the Baseball and Football Cards pages under the years 1970 and 1971.

KELLOGG'S ZOO CHOO TRAIN CARS: Kellogg's Puffa Puffa Rice cereal premium, red plastic hippo on a circus train flatbed car, issued 1969-70, NM, assembled - missing back hook, 1.75 inches long. There were four different train cars in this promotion. NOTE: These were reissued in 1982 by R&L outside the U.S. and you can find those sealed rather easily. I pulled this one out of the box around 1970, so I know its history. Box back panel shown as provenance only - not included. See premium from both sides and box  $16

KELLOGG'S CEREAL GLOW-IN-THE-DARK STICKERS: Kellogg's cereal premium, issued 1971, NM/M, sticker card features the cartoon logo characters for Sugar Smacks' Indian, Apple Jacks' Apple Jack and the Raisin Bran Sun, red background variation, size 2 x 3 inches, blank back. There were 4 different sticker cards with 3 stickers on each in this cereal promotion and at least red and blue background variations. Rather rare, not an easy find in this condition. Box back panel shown as provenance only - not included. See sticker and back panel  $30

KELLOGG'S WILD WEST RODEO FUN GAMES: Kellogg's cereal premiums, pair of two rodeo theme game sets with 2 games in each, includes "Steer Roping/Calf Roping" and "Steer Wrestling/Saddle Bronc Riding," issued 1974, both MIP - Still sealed with one package having slight edge tanning, packages are 3 1/8 x 4 1/2 inches, premiums are 2 x 3 inches. I haven't been able to locate a cereal box for these, but "Kellogg's" is prominent on the premium and my best recollection is they came out of Sugar Pops. You need to hold the package up to the light to see the contents, but I'll include a scan here anyway. See both premiums  Both for $50

KELLOGG'S SUGAR POPS HORSE TRADING CARDS: Kellogg's Sugar Pops cereal premiums, pair of two Horse Trading sticker cards, includes The Clydesdale and The Morgan, issued 1974 and 1976 respectively, both NM, size roughly 2.5 x 3.5 inches, Stick'r Trading Cards were manufactured by Bates Printing Specialties, the top sticker was made to peel off and the identical image was on the card under the sticker, the back of the card features information about the horse. KELLOGG'S BICENTENNIAL GLO-ONS: Kellogg's cereal premiums, pair of two glow in the dark iron-ons with color cartoon drawings of "Pony Macaroni" and "Reginald Red Coat," issued 1976, both MIP - Still sealed, manufactured by Bates Printing Specialties, packages are 3.5 x 3.5 inches, premiums are 2 3/8 x 2 3/8 inches. I haven't been able to locate a cereal box for these, but the 1976 Kellogg's bullet on the premium, added with the obvious bicentennial theme of the cartoon characters, is a dead giveaway on which cereal company issued it and when. One side of the package contains the directions for application. You need to hold the package up to the light to see the contents, but I'll include a scan here anyway. See sample premium directions  Both for $50

KELLOGG'S BUBBLE BLASTERS: Kellogg's Apple Jacks cereal premiums, pair of two Bubble Blasters, one green and one yellow, issued 1988, hallmark stamped on the premium reads: 1988 KELLOGG CO, both MIP/Still sealed in the original packaging, packages are roughly 6 1/4 x 2 3/8 inches, premiums are 4.25 x 1.75 inches. The two Model A trucks carry a 1979 hallmark and the 1921 Model T trucks bear a 1989 hallmark, but that's the Matchbox copyright. This cereal premium sendaway is from 1995-97, not 1989 as some would have you believe. It took 6 proof of purchase seals to get this set. These designs have been reissued a number of times over the decades, but these are the original send-away set. Great nostalgic images of an iconic advertising symbol. See set of 4 mugs  $18

POST CEREAL PREMIUMS - Non-Character Specific (Listed by date issued)

Post Cereal Box Baseball Cards are listed on the Baseball Cards pages under the years 1962 and 1963.

POST CEREAL MAGIC TRICKS: Five different magic trick cereal premiums were created for this promotion, issued in the early 1970s in Post Super Sugar Crisp cereal (you can see the Sugar Bear commercial here on YouTube). I have four of the tricks available.
#1) IMP BOTTLE TRICK: Never used, the premium itself is NM, you can clearly see that the original plug is still on the bottle top. Still in the original plastic packaging, however (you knew there was a "however" or I would have just called it MIP), age has taken its toll on the plastic and it is split along the bottom seam. After better than 40 years, the cello wrap has loosely formed itself around the bottle which hasn't been removed. So, I won't call it MIP because of the packaging age flaws, but it is a NM/Unused premium in an open package. The trick instructions are printed on the cello wrap. See premium  $40
#2) SODA BOTTLE CAP TRICK:
Cap is NM, the original plastic packaging is present but the very top has been ripped open indicating the cap trick was removed and possible used. Still a very nice display premium. Trick instructions are printed on the cello wrap. See premium  $27
#3) DISAPPEARING COIN TRICK:
Premium is in excellent condition, blue plastic outer case and white plastic insert, "Disappearing Coin Case" stamped on top and "Made in Hong Kong" stamped on back. Guess what? It still makes a dime disappear (although you can see it fairly easily through the cheap white plastic! - Did this really fool anyone, even as a kid?) No packaging survived with this one. See premium  $14
#4) 2-CARD MONTE TRICK:
MIP/Sealed, 7 of clubs on the double face card is visible, it doesn't get rarer than this for this premium, the original packaging sleeve is NM/M and unopened! You can read all the trick instructions printed on the paper sleeve. Rarely found unopened. See premium  $55
#5) 2-CARD MONTE TRICK:
Cards are NM/M, ace of hearts and 10 of clubs on the double face card, the original packaging sleeve was opened neatly along the seam, so the premium stills looks nice and displays well. You can read all the trick instructions printed on the paper sleeve. See premium  $32
#6) 2-CARD MONTE TRICK: Cards are NM/M, 7 of hearts and 4 of clubs on the double face card, the original packaging sleeve was not opened neatly, so roughly the top inch is missing. You can read the complete trick instructions in the middle printed section only of the paper sleeve. See premium  $18

POST CEREAL FLY-HI BALLOON: Post Cereal premium in boxes of Super Sugar Crisp, issued circa-1973, MIP/still sealed in original packaging, blue plastic gondola with a yellow balloon wrapped around it (you can see the rubber band inside has broken after over 40 years!), instructions are printed on the cello-wrap, measures roughly 3.25 x 2 inches, produced by Gold Premium International, Inc. of Miami, Florida and is stamped "GPI, INC. Miami, Florida" on the wrapper. (Look at it go, golly! You can see the Sugar Bear commercial here on YouTubeSee premium from top and bottom  $45

POST CEREAL TOPPLE THE PINS GAME: Post Cereal bowling premium found in boxes of Super Sugar Crisp, issued 1973 (later reissued in 1977), MIP/still sealed in original packaging, green plastic base with yellow plastic bowling pins (believe it or not the rubber band inside hasn't broken after over 40 years, but who know how long that will last!), instructions are printed on the cello-wrap, unassembled pins measure roughly 2.5 x 3.5 inches, roughly 2.25 inch triangular base with extended plastic pieces. Another unopened tough find. Reissue Box shown as provenance only - not included. I'm not sure if it's artistic license or not, but the 1977 box shown illustrates only 6 pins in the original 10 pin game from 1973. While I doubt they remolded the premium, it's always possible that they did and you got 4 fewer pins in the reissue. See premium and box  $50

POST CEREAL TERRARIUM PREMIUM: Clear plastic terrarium with black sponge bottom, seeds and instructions inside, Issued in 1974 in Post Alpha-Bits and Super Sugar Crisp Cereals, you can read the Oct. 1974 test date on the seed package!, Premium is MIP/Still sealed, but the plastic packaging wrapper is showing some age wear with minor rips in the cello plastic (an unfortunate side effect of time and the plastic used), size 2 inches tall with a 1 3/8 inch base diameter, Luther Burbank Seed Company. This is the cylindrical variety seen on the far right of the back panel. Cereal box back panel shown next to the terrarium image as provenance only - not included. This premium made a comeback in slightly altered colored forms in 1976 and 1979. (You can see the Alpha-Bits commercial here on YouTube) See premium and back panel  $40

POST CEREAL DOOR SIGNS: Lot of 4 different signs, Post Cereal premiums in boxes of Honeycomb, issued 1974, size approximately 4 x 4.75 inches. The signs were die-cut into shapes and look like stickers on backing. Lot includes "Garbage Dump Closes at 6PM" (VG due to 1 inch crease from bottom edge to "S" in "Closes"), "Notice! It's Not Always This Messy Here Sometimes It's Worse" (VG due to 1 inch crease from side edge below "Here", "Star's Dressing Room Knock Before Entering" (Ex/M), and "This Place Off Limits To Grownups" (Ex/M). Made by American Premium Corp. in Watertown, Mass. 02172, which is printed on the bottom of the "Star's Dressing Room" and "This Place Off Limits To Grownups" signs. There were six different signs in this promotion. Box back panel shown as provenance only - not included. See premiums and box  All 4 for $65

POST CEREAL BLOW-A-PLANES: Lot of 2 Post Cereal premiums, issued mid-1970s, roughly 5.75 inches long, one plane is MIP/still sealed in original package with the broken rubber band visible, wing variation colors are white and yellow; the second plane is open in very good condition with the white blow straw having minor cracks in one end, wing variation colors are white and red. Early versions of these premiums were first issued in 1955 by Post in Post Toasties and Sugar Crisp cereals. Never to let a good premium die, Post brought them back 20 years later, only I'm not positive that they still called them "Blow-A-Planes." See premiums  Both for $45

POST CEREAL FLAIR FI FO FUM GIANT LINE COLORING PEN: Lot of 3 - two reddish-pink and one green, Post Cereal premiums in boxes of Super Sugar Crisp, issued 1975, All MIP/still sealed in original packaging, pens are 5.5 inches long. POST CEREAL MAGIC MARKER LIQUID CRAYONS: Post Cereal premium in boxes of Super Sugar Crisp, issued 1975, MIP/still sealed in original packaging, Blue variation with "Magic Marker Liquid Crayons" printed in white on the side, 4.75 inches long. Box front shown as provenance only - not included. See premium and box  $15

POST CEREAL MONSTER MOBILES: Lot of 2 Post Cereal premiums, found in boxes of Cocoa Pebbles and Fruity Pebbles, issued mid-1970s, MIP/still sealed in original packaging, plastic, flat, lot includes two of the four different glow in the dark dinosaur figures, an old style Tyrannosaurus Rex and a Pterodactyl, both approximately 4 inches long. You were supposed to string these up into a mobile, hence the name "monster mobiles." Date is approximate as I haven't been able to locate a box with the offer on it, but they are from the mid-1970s peak of the "glow" premiums. (You can see the Post Pebbles Cereal commercial here, scroll down to #32) See premiums  Both for $60

POST CEREAL MYSTERY BALL: Post Cereal premium in boxes of Super Sugar Crisp, issued 1979, NM condition, assembled - paper cube inside, ball roughly 1.75 inches in diameter. These bionic sticker sets turned up in Trix and Cheerios. Also included with these stickers is the 1976 Kenner Toys $32 Cash Refund Book that originally came with them! It bears a January 31, 1977 offer expiration date. The stickers were originally seamed into the 8 page catalog.
